What is paleo?
Paleo (from “paleolithic”) diet draws inspiration from the way our hunter-gatherer ancestor ate before the agricultural revolution. Research shows that our Paleolithic ancestors lived longer than our Neolithic ancestors after the introduction of grains and agriculture. Paleolithic predecessors, unless eaten by a predator or killed as a result of injuries and infections, have been shown to lead a very healthy life without cancer, heart attacks or strokes, diabetes, osteoporosis or autoimmune disease. They were lean, strong and healthy.

Review our article on 12 rules of Paleo diet for detailed information. Meat, fish, seafood, eggs, vegetables and leafy greens, nuts, fruits, healthy fats such as olive oil, avocados and coconut are the core of the Paleo diet.
Grains, added sugar, dairy, and legumes, on the other hand, were not part of the original diet, they don’t contribute positively to our health, and they can have negative consequences on our health and fitness.

Is Paleo the right fit for me?
Depends. Are you looking to radically improve your health, lose excess fat, improve your energy levels, and gain fitness? Can you imagine living your life without wheat? if your answer is yes, then no matter who you are, you are prepared to go Paleo and reap all the benefits. Paleo diet is rich in all essential nutrients, and therefore it’s very difficult to go wrong choosing paleo. However, you should consult with your physician about your specific conditions before you begin any nutritional program.
Why does Paleo work for fat loss?
Fat loss on Paleo happens through two different sets of mechanisms. First, Paleo will help balance your digestive hormones by minimizing foods that interfere with insulin and glucagon function. Once these critical digestive hormones are in place and balanced, your body will be able to use its fat stores for energy instead of dietary sugar.
Secondly, the high satiety effect of the paleo foods affects how much you need to eat to feel satisfied. In other words, the food you eat on Paleo will make you feel fuller and faster than you feel on empty carbs. With your plate filled with healthy meats and vegetables, you simply won’t be able to eat enough to gain weight, and in most cases you will begin losing weight steadily.
Why is Paleo the healthiest way to lose fat?
Paleo diet only includes foods that contribute to your health. Paleo leaves out any questionable or ambiguous items. Paleo emphasizes healthy digestive tract, anti-inflammatory foods, and nutrition-dense staples. There are hundreds of thousands of people who have benefited from Paleo diet, but it is up to you to try and see if it works for you.
